Usui Reiki
A Japanese form of stress reduction that is based upon the Asian concept of life energy (Rei = aura and Ki = energy of power) and is treated by the laying on of hands either close to or on the body. A subtle energy flows from the hands of the Therapist into the Client and it is this energy that creates relaxation and promotes healing within the body.
Aromatherapy
An holistic therapy to awaken the senses that uses the benefits of essential oils through the medium of a light massage. The aim is to treat then whole person rather than a single ailment and works on the principle that the most effective way to promote health and prevent illness, is to try and strengthen the body’s Immune System to help restore harmony between the mind and body.
Reflexology
A wonderful, holistic therapy that uses pressure points to the reflexes on the feet and hands. It is based upon the principle that these reflexes are seen as a ‘map’ of the body and through manipulation, may assist the body in rebalancing and releasing tension thus encouraging a natural healing process to boost general health and well-being.
Reflexology Lymph Drainage
RLD is a ground breaking and multi-award winning Reflexology technique that has been researched and developed by Sally Kay whilst working in Cancer Care. The technique is used to help reduce lymphoedema (tissue swelling due to the failure of lymph drainage) after treatment for breast cancer by focusing on stimulating the Lymphatic system of the body and its associated reflexes on the feet. This technique is also useful for clients with other (non-Cancer related) conditions. The results appear to support the theory of Reflexology.
